In sickness

No, I'm not the one who is sick. My aunt was, my other aunt.

The day after unproductive overnight at Lou's place, I was the one assigned to stay be with my aunt at the hospital -- The Medical City. My dad picked my up from school and brought me home and I just packed my bags for what I should wear for the stay. After packing up, my family went there, talked until it was getting late. They left me at around 10pm and I was already sleepy but the TV is on and I kinda liked the show. I watched until 12 and slept.

I woke up at around 7am. So that I can pick-up my grandma downstairs. She was brought there by my dad. While waiting for the elevator I had the chance to take this.

architecture
Looks very modern, for in fact it is modern inside... heh'

Too early for early birds I entered the elevator and no one's inside but my so I got another chance to take my picture.. Lolx

elevator tales
Fisherman's cap? I like that cap. Even Nico wanted it because he doesn't have one. I still haven't changed my clothes though, nor washed my face... No one will know the difference.. heh'

As I was waiting at the lobby, I saw this fountain and I can't resist to take a shot.

They arrived and I brought them to the room. I took a bath after eating my breakfast.

I dressed up and took these picture before I left. My dad's piccking me up any minute now.

I went to the lobby again to wait for my dad. And as always I took a picture of myself.. wahahah

I wore that Shirt that my aunt bought me in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Sadly that shades of my was lost somewhere...

This was als othe day of her operation that went successful. An operation to remove cysts in her uterus.

Peepz

Just another normal day at school.

I went to the project lab and Chichay approach me and asked me if I could take a picture of the Logistics Department of the school, we went there and took some.

Me and my friends had a picture trip in the project labs of our school.

That's me and abi again ^^,

Clockwise from the left: Sammy, Sarah, Cathy, and Abi

proj-lab 2
Cherri came in and joined us.

The bell rang and I gotta go to me next class at the Computer Lab.

Grace saw my phone and took pictures of herself for friendster.

grace
She looked chinese... hehe'

The class ended and me and my groupmate from another subject went to our leader's house for an overnight to get a project done.

My friend Nico Paulo Innocencio Mendoza (full name pa talaga eh...) bought his N73 in Malaysia for a fraction of th cost when you buy it here. He showed it to me. He didn't know that I have a new phone. I intentionally put out my phone. He was surprised and said, "I didn't know you had that" "Good for you". I replied "My tita bought it for me a week ago before you went to Malaysia". He replied back "SO how was it?" The I told him the features and all. And showed the pictures I took like the one with the clouds that looked like an angel and he was astonished... He took a picture of me using his N73. And showed it to me. And sent it to me via BlueTooth. And he took another picture of me to show how useful the his flash was.

violet gaze
Replaced the "old" image with a "more accurate one." Though it had those ISO settings it still did not work well because of the dark room...

me again
I took this pic of myself to show how the flash of the k800i looks...
The Xenon Flash really did its work.

Then when the battery was draining, I asked LOU, our leader if he has a charger liked mine because his sister had this Z-series phone. But there was no space anymore for the socket. We were all charging our phones. I just said that, "Well, I just have to charge it to my laptop." Nico was like, "I didn't know you could you do that?!" I said, "Ofcourse I can. Can't you?" He just said that.. "Oh.. Okay, good..." I pulled out the cable that came with my phone and started to charge my phone.

After a while, we all went to sleep. We stopped at around 3am and finished nothing other than installing MS Visual Basic.NET

I really hate these overnights because 70% of the time, you don't do anything other than wasting it.

On the Court

The first day of the week.

This day was the openning of the intramurals of the school and there's no better way to begin it than with a cheer dance competition!

cheer dance

Before the competition began, me and my friends placed ourselves on the corner of the court, knowing that it won't be filled anyway. We were wrong, the court was jam packed. Too bad the stage was far away that I can't take a snapshot of it.

pose
*from the left: BJ, Migz, JP, Gracie, me.

The competition was fun, there were boring competitors as well, unique, and funny, even daring ones.

1st runner up -- ABMA, because of their creativity and props
2nd runner up -- EM, yata coz of their funky moves
3rd runner up -- CNE, because others are not good. :(

I was part of the cheer dance, I am the sound editor...

Funny, though, we were cheering for SSE, and SSE's cheering for us. Walang iwanan, manalo, matalo...

hehe'

Don't have anything more to say... I'm smiling already, remembering it.

Human as Subject

The 4th day of my enjoyment with my new toy. I didn't have time to take pictures at the 3rd day. :( Anyway,

It was a break after my BUSINLA class. ABI saw my phone and says cool, new phone. Let's try it out! Before trying it out CATHY came in, "Uy! Picture! Picture!" So, the three of us posed for a pic:

ang tatlo nagsama
And, I am in the middle!

Cathy walked away and Abi and I took more pictures.

si abi, si abi

Then Abi was called by a friend so she went away. Then Cathy came back.

cathy ulet

And wanted a solo shot as well for her friendster account that was never opened. LOlxz!

cathy!

They both went away. Haha too bad, I've got more memory to spare.
I took a shot at my laptop, slightly opened, with the Metering Mode function.

my lapitop
The Metering Mode functions as when you pick a spot, it'll automatically balance the lighting. If the spot is dark, it will intensify the lighting, on the other hand, if the spot is well lit, it'll darken the lighting regardless of other light source. Since the laptop cast a shadow on the keyboard, it thought that it was really a shadow, it intensified the lighting, that's why I got this shot.

After that class, I opened the window once more to take more pictures of the sunset. This is what I got:

cloudscape     cloudscape
Too cloudy...

After class I straight home, and got food from the kitchen and brought it up.
At my room, at 10:40pm my mom came in and took a look atmy phone and took this picture of mine with the added watermark of the date and time.

Watermark

That all for this day. Such a BUM.

Out on the Field

kapuso

It was the 2nd day of classes for the week, I got my new phone that I wanted to hide/show to everyone.

My first class is 1:30 in the afternoon. My dad picks me up at around 12:30. It's only 7km from home to school, going through EDSA(Epipanio delos Santos Avenue). I got to school at around 1pm, I was pretty early for my 1st class. I decided to play around with my new toy... And what do you know, I got spectacular shots outside the window of my classroom (rm605 of Asia Pacific College).

half
This tree was a reminder of devastation that Typhoon Milenio brought to the Philippines. No, it wasn't cut in half by lightning, the wind just destroyed the base of the center branch, that's why it look like it was split. And the structure behind it wasn't devastated as well. It was demolished because they'll probably put up a new house there.

angel in the sky
This was unintentional. I've always wanted to picture cloudscapes but this was better than what I intended to see. For me it's really spectacular. I even used this as my wallpaper(the full resolution one).

sparkle
This is the city at early afternoon. You can actually see NAIA(Ninoy Aquino International Airport) terminal 3 at the horizon.

My teachers and my classmates came in afterwards.

And we had our first class... boring class.. BUSINLA(Business Law) with a boring but fun teacher... ironic. He's fun in giving out examples but he's boring in teaching.. hehe' The class ended at 3:15pm and I stayed in the room because I still have class there afterwards..

Boring myself to death, I took this panoramic picture of the classroom:

classroom panorama
Just wanted to try the panorama feature and here it is.
It wasn't that good, heh`. I need some practice.

My classmates came in afterwards so I didn't have anymore chance to take anymore pictures.

At 3:30pm Professor Argio Barrios, our Philisophy of Man instructor came in and started teaching and all. He's good. So talkative and informative at the same time. He's a little sucker in authority, but he doesn't mean it.

I remember my first day with him. He entered the classroom, chin up, and walking like an emperor. His first words were: "I am the King and you are my subordinates, you are expected to follow by my rules. I am the authority!" Or something like that.. He continued with his introductory lesson and so on. At the end of the class (4:45pm) he asked us: "Class, anymore questions?" and I answer quickly: "Bakit?!" a common word in the Philipines asking "WHY?!" but I used it not to ask why but just to ask a question. Everyone in the room laughed and looked at me, I was seating at the back. Even the prof smiled. And there, everyone left with a smile in their faces and me defying the authority once again!

I stayed in the classroom and once again took pictures of things. I turned of the lights and lowered the blinds. The room was dark now. Here's what I got:

classroom table     classroom
The Xenon flash did its work in illuminating the room. It wasn't really intended to capture distant objects, though.

It was a habit for mine to look at the sunset and relaxing myself. I rolled up the blinds once again and here's what I saw.

cloudscape   cloudscape   kapuso cloudscape
Breath taking. And if you'll look closely at the 1st image, you'll notice that there is a heart shape image formed from the glare of the sun. Lovely. It was unintentional of my to do that, I didn't notice it in the phone until I uploaded it in my PC.

I still have class following that, 5pm class, up to 7:15pm. Funny, our last class professor always dismiss us early, he's lazy too.

My dad picked me up at 7:30 and at home, I ate dinner and went to my room at once to test my phone again.

Got the funny pix:

dirty fan
My electric fan is very dirty.. ew... lolxz

I also tried the macro mode.

cool.

Well, that's my day. Hope you enjoyed my pix...

The First Encounter

It was the 12th day of November, year 2006, when I first stumbled upon this stall in Robinson's Galleria. The Sony Ericson Showroom. It's newly opened. Me and my mom always look at these cellphones. Upon entering we were greeted by these two lovely ladies. We did not mind them... hehe' We were walking around and I saw the k800i on display. My mom asked me what its features were, so I said them. The sales lady, who was maning that station, also added to my statements. As we were conversing, I learn something at the very least, that the BestPic™ when taking its 9 pictures captures it at FULL 3Mpx. At first I thought it was just at VGA resolution. So ok, I didn't know that, now I do. Back then the price was high, totalling Php 26,000 (including the credit card charges) and I think at Php 24,000 or Php 21,000 on cash basis. My mom got impressed and wanted to buy me that but its so expensive... So, she made a deal... Half would be paid by her and the other half would be paid by my tita. And I will pay any accessory that goes with it, Memory Stick Micro M2 for at least Php 1,000 only since I have the discount coupon... Sneaky eh.. They even demonstrated to us the real thing... My mom liked it also...

We were not accompanied by my tita, we went to look for her in the groceries since she said she would be there. My mom talked to her for a while and she said no.. :(

That evening my mom talked to me and asked if i really liked that and obviously I said yes. She talked once again to my tita. And finally she agreed! My mom informed about their decision. That that would be there Christmas gift to me.. So i said ok...! The following day, after school, they when I got home, they informed that they we would go to that stall. I was so happy inside that I wanted to shout and smile so big. On they way there, I was still in my school dress code. Long sleeved polo with necktie for Mondays and Tuesdays. Short polo with or without necktie for Wednesdays and Thursdays. And casual during Fridays. Well, I took of my necktie and my ID, I could be mistaken for a salesman with that outfit.

In the stall, we were entertained again at the deal was final. They bought me the phone! I was happy. And that the woman behind us also got curious and wanted to buy the phone too... After that we went to Jack's Loft, just behind the stall, to eat dinner and try out the phone. I took a few shots... Just to try out the camera. And the remarkable xenon flash.

Me and my Mom
That's me & my mom ^.^

After dinner we went home, and I still took a few shot while waiting for a taxi(cab).

I tried the zoom:
Zooming
As you can see, it didn't resize the picture like others cellphones models/brands do.

When we arrived at home, all I did, for the rest of the night, was to install the software & utilize the cable that came with it. And to read the manual, as I usually with all of my gadgets... Never ever forget to read the manual. Well, if you're lazy enough, have others to read it for you and tell you the summary... lolz

Macro Keys

C ya~!

hmm... come to think of it, it wasn't my first encounter with the k800i. I've already seen it on web review sites and in the Sony Ericsson. Well, that could be the time where I first touched the real thing THAT BECAME MINE the following day.

~Click Me~ to see more of my pictures for that day.

The Tool

Sony Ericsson K800i CyberSHOT phone
A picture paints a thousand words
So why not make it the best picture every time, with auto focus, built-in Xenon flash, image and video stabiliser function and BestPic™?

The CYBERShot
The 3.2 MEGA pixel camera captures astonishing images in clarity. Of course they should be in well lit situation, but when in comes to pitch darkness, the XENON flash take over. XENON flash is the flash used in still cameras digital or film. Aside from the auto mode, the CYRBETShot also come in with other modes such as the BestPic where it takes a few snapshots before the actual click, during, and releasing. Twilight Landscape and Portrait for dim situation, without the flash turning on. The CYBERShot also comes with preset of frames where you could play with your shot, and some other effects such as Panorama (where it interlaces 3 shots to get an almost 180 degree view), Black and White to enhance photographic effects, Sepia for antique look, and Solarize for that scary flared effect or something. Add to that some other settings like metering mode where it enhances shadows at the spot pointed at. WHite balance to set the light balance in a super lit situation like a sunny beach or snowy mountain. And one GREAT thing I personally love about this phone is that it can zoom in 8x without resizing the image. The image taken at 3Mpx(megapixel) is the same size as the zoomed pic taken at 3Mpx. Unlike the 6280 it, resizes it/CROPS it! Though it's not a forward competitor, my mom owns one and she envies me because i can zoom and not resize the pic... hehe'
The 3.2 MEGA pixel camera is not just a camera, it can also take videos! The length of the video taken with the camera is limited to the size of your memory (the high quality ones). And 10 secs if you want to send it as MMS(Multimedia Message). It records at QCIF format/176x132 size or something like that. Co'z obviously it's not a video camera, its sole purpose is for still. And it does a great job on being a still camera.. Well, great images too for the videos..

The Phone
The phone features pretty awesome, great fun games, friendly user interface, very clean too. Unlike RAZR's or Nokia's. Some users dislike the User Interface for being slow... it is because it add motion effects to the highlighter unlike others where it just pops out the menu... XD. This phone is visual! wOot!
Messaging, you just have to get use to the keypad. Well, from a 3530 user/6280/RAZR user, its keypad is quite shrunk, unlike the others where the buttons are far appart, the K800i's keys are small, but hey, at least my screen is bigger than my keys. hehe' Here's a little secret, the phone can store up to whopping 988 messages in it's shared message memory.. don't ask how i counted it because traditionally you can't. I'll tell you anyway. I got this UNLIMITXT promo from Globe (a Telecom Network in the Philippines) [send UNLIMITXT to 2870] where i can literally unlimited to any globe user in locally. (15 pesos for 24-hour unlimited, 25-pesos for 2-day unlimitxt, and 50 pesos for 5-days unlimited texting). I got this friend of mine since High School and we've been txting alot lately, he's got a globe too. I went overboard and txt'd him every now and then, even just to reply "k", "hehe", "g'nyt", "ahahhaha", "ah...", so short.. hehe' I saved all incoming messages, as well as my sent items (automatically saved when you successfully send a message). Then I got to the point where it alerts me to erase my message because it got to the point of 95%, i didn't. Little by little, i got the margin smaller until it really alert me that my mailbox is full, the figures magically appeared in a list, totalling 988 messages. i think it's 654 inbox and 334 sent items, i deleted some though...
3G -- i successfully established a video call with my mom, once and it was good. Still can't utilize the full 3g network here in the Philippines co'z no body is using it quite often and the networks "ARE BIASED ABOUT NOKIA's!!!!!" disregarding others "BETTER" handsets like Sony Ericsson and Motorola.
Going around is that simple, just use common sense and logic. Can't find the radio? Does the radio entartain? Then it's in the entertainment section. hehe' They moved the radio from the 1st level menu to Entertainment to make way for the Media Player. Here's a feature that you may wanna visit quite often if you're board and wanna be excited(if you're a text addict) or dismayed(if not a txt addict). Go to Menu -> Settings -> Calls tab -> Time & Cost -> Message Counter. It counts your total sent messages! As for this day jan 7, 2007, i sent 2182 messages!! since Nov. 11, 2006!
THE Media Player! Are like the media player in Walkman Phones, without the MegaBass. which means, you get a phone, a camera, and a walkman/mp3/media player... COOL, asteg! And when your not contented with it's big 64MB internal memory, you can also buy 1GB Memory Stick Micro M2 cards! A whole lotta music and a whole lotta pictures to take at your hearts desire!
Calls menu gives you the last 10 callers, called, and miss called, and a summary of all.
The File Manager, organizes you file, from the images taken with the camera album or any media received, pictures, music, recorded sounds, and other documents.
Games are so fun for kids and kids at heart. The Golf and The Tennis teaches you to focus and improve your reaction abilities, while the Fishing game helps you be patient.. and catch the fish!
Still Bored? How about making your own ringtone? With the MusicDJ, you can make you own funky ringtone for messages, calls, are even just jamming with friends and sharing to others! Still bored? How about your own MTV or karaoke? With the Video DJ, you can record a video, slice them, add captions, insert music, and voila! you have your own MTV!
Still not high tech enough? How about the Presenter, MediaPlayer controller, and the Desktop contoller. You can control you Windows Media Player or WinAmp using your phone! or better yet your mouse cursor! Coupled with a bluetooth adaptor, you can control your computer!! For the tech savvy, your phone is now a Human Interface Device... hehe' You can access these services through Entertainment -> Remote Control. Yeah, they're in entertainment.. hehe'
Can't wake up? Why not use your fave MP3 or radio staion to wake you up? It's in the Alarms under Organizer. and also, you could make 5 recurrent alarms for your, obviously, recurring alarms such as take a bath, brush teeth, watch TV, or something feed the dog even...
Notes - your digital grocery list! save your notes in the notes and you can shop with a digital grocery list.
Contacts - can save almost everything, including vital statistics (in the info section) you can also add a Picture of the contact and it will appear when he/she calls you or even txtS you! cool, and another thing VIDEO RINGTONES. yes, you can use you fave Videos as ringtones and contact tone! sweet~

I got nothing more to say, I'm just excited about this phone. Can't stop using it...

You can buy it from my friends there at at the Sony Ericsson shop located at 1st Floor Food court Robinson's Galleria Ortigas Center Pasig City. at the Tech Zone of the mall, left wing facing the department store, in front of Yellow Cab, Siemens, beside Nokia N-gallery/shop.
Tell the saleslady there that Francis/Luigi sent you there, they know me, and they'll gladly entertain you.
It's around Php 21,000 when my mom and my tita(auntie) bought it for me ^^, (Nov 11, 2006), and they even gave me a leather SE lace, P2,000 discount on Memory Stick Micro M2, a P5,000 discount for a SE Photo Printer! They're so nice, aren't they?!

--
So, much for introductions...
Sorry for the boring topic, can't get my presentations done nicely, the Philippines international communications are crap because of the earthquake in Taiwan breaking subsea communication cables at late last month (Dec 29?) still crappy up to now (Jan 7) I am praying that they could fix it at once, it's hell for me! and for others as well!
I really wanted to share pictures at once but i can't seem to upload them easily in my flickr account... or in any account other than imageshack which is quite easy to use and at least faster...

The Definition, the Form, and the Technique

Let us now define what in the hell I'll be doing here in blogger for the rest of my life, as long as I have a camera, digital or film, and an active Internet connection.

Photography-
According to www.wikipedia.org
It is defined as the process of making pictures by means of the action of capturing light on a film or any medium. Light patterns reflected or emitted from objects are recorded onto a sensitive medium or storage chip through a timed exposure. The process is done through mechanical, chemical or digital devices commonly known as cameras.

I wonder if there are chemical cameras around? Or if there were chemical cameras...

Anyway,

The word comes from the Greek words phos ("light"), and graphis ("stylus", "paintbrush") or graphĂȘ, blah blah blah "drawing with light" or "representation by means of lines" or "drawing." Blah blah blah product of photography has been called a photograph. blah blah blah also call them pictures. In digital photography, the term image has begun to replace photograph. (The term image is blah blah blah geometric optics.)

i kinda get to like that word XD

    -No history
    -No significat people
    -No Whatso ever

Form-
Photography, I may now call IMAGERY since we are dealing with digital photographs, has many form. These forms use to describe the artistic value an which the Photo/Image are made or taken.

    • Candid photography -- candid shots
    • Documentary photography -- "roiji was here!"
    • Glamour photography -- look at my shirt, i am emo!
    • Erotic photography -- you know... "seduce me." "ah"... I might post some, joke.
    • Fashion photography -- am i beautiful?
    • Fine art photography -- Photograph that pass the fine arts something
    • Forensic photography -- Look Ma, i'm DEAD
    • Nature photography -- For the trees!
    • Wildlife photography -- Rar!
    • Macro photography -- Take a closer look!
    • Cloudscape photography -- I see a rabbit!
    • Landscape art -- Soil formations
    • Photojournalism -- this is me before, this is me after
    • Stock photography -- free for all photos
    • Street photography -- Look at the traffic..
    • Vernacular photography -- accidental art by th common man, i'm not common
    • Sports photography -- threeeee points!!
    • Portrait photography -- Family Picture! Picture!!

Why would I elaborate on them, some definitions are bogus anyway...
They're clickable if you want to read more.

Technique-
The techniques are the usual things that we do with our cameras to get those "artistic" effect, so to speak.
There are some techinique that I use quite often. And some, I cannot risk do with my phone/camera/media player

    • Aerial Photography
-the taking of photographs from the air with a camera mounted, or hand held, on an aircraft, helicopter, balloon, rocket, kite, skydiver or similar vehicle. I used this technique when I was on-board the plane going to Laoag City, Ilocos Norte last December 26-30, 2006. I used the "Flight Mode" feature of the phone so that I may not cause interference with the plane's communication system, according to the flight stewardess. Though here in the Philippines, they just want it OFF, unlike myself I wanted to use the feature, I paid for it, so I used it secretly. And go spectacular aerial photographs! Especially on the way home to Manila where I begged to have a window seat. I'll share them in my Laoag post Dec. 26-30, 2006 soon... wait for it!
    • Astrophotography
-a specialized type of photography that entails making photographs of astronomical objects in the night sky such as planets, stars, and deep sky objects such as star clusters and galaxies. I might try this using the Camera's Twilight Landscape preset. I still don't have the opportunity to try one since i don't have a tripod and the place where I lives/stay is "light-polluted". I got an image of the moon at my window. I guess that's enough. Considering that it's pitch dark outside at that time... That moon wakes me up at night during FULL phase... even at 3am... it stares at me saying wake up! i'm FULL... LOlXZ
    • Bokeh
-(from the Japanese boke, "blur") is a photographic term referring to out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens. The aesthetic qualities of the bokehs "balh blah blah", but it is generally conceded that an out-of-focus background image can at the very least reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject. The definition itself is wierd... Does it points to the subject as bokeh or the blurry background? Anyway, I achieve this effect in macro mode and sometimes in auto mode and close up of up to 1 meter (with a far background). I use this alot. It's quite fun specially when it is time to view it in your computer or laptop with the bundled cable...
    • Contre-jour
-is French for 'against daylight', referring to photographs taken when the camera is pointing towards the light source. Commonly known as Silhouette. I use this when I fell like using it.. harharhahr! that was suppose to be a joke, anyway. I just got a few shot of this, or was it one (as of Jan 7, 2007) anyway, let's continue.
    • Cross processing
-is a term which describes the procedure of deliberately processing photographic film in a wrong chemical solution. Well, I can't use this since I can't process my images with chemical solutions... I can use photoshop with mine... click here
    • Cyanotype
-an old monochrome photographic printing process which gives a cyan-blue print. In short, blueprints! like here
    • Digiscoping
-is a method of obtaining photos using a digital camera through a telescope or, less often, binoculars. Afocal projection is a method of astrophotography in which photographs are taken by holding or mounting the camera over the telescope eyepiece, with the camera taking the place of your eye. Afocal projection is the method most commonly associated with digiscoping. I did this while I was at the Ilocos Sur LightHouse to view the waves of water along the shore while it splashes on the wall of rock along the shore.. it was really spectacular... Sorry guy no pic as of now... connection is crap. You'll see them soon, i promise.
    • Film developing
-chemical processing of the film after it was exposed in order make the negative or positive image to be futher process to be on paper or media... Sorry, I was kinda talking about somethings over there. I can't shorten the explanation... I can't even use this techinique with my Imagery...
    • Harris Shutter
-The effect is produced by re-exposing the same frame of film through Red, Green and Blue filters in turn, whilst keeping the camera steady. This will generate a rainbow of colour around any object that moves within the frame. It's not an equipment but a technique. It porduces those rainbow colors on moving object... The film is exposed trice for the RGB colors...
    • Kite aerial photography
-aerial photography using a kite. this is what i'm talking about. I WILL NEVER PUT MY PHONE IN A KITE! and no one can fly the kite at the right altitude in 10 secs for the camera's TIMER function. nor rig up a clicking device where you could just climb a building and take the picture there.. hehe'
    • Lith-Print
-a photographic printing process that uses standard black-and-white, photographic paper with lithographic developer to produce a grainy print with dark shadows and soft delicate highlights.. not much of an explanation though.. and i too is not familiar with this technique. this is a good site where you can view lith prints.. they're nice, with more emphasis on highlights and contrast, and whatchama call it.
    • Macro photography
-refers to close-up photography; the classical definition that the image projected on the "film plane" (i.e film or a digital sensor) is the same size as the subject. K800i macro mode is so cool that it can have that bokeh effect and nice clear crisp closeups with or without the flash... most of my subjects for macro mode is my eye, and plants specially flowers.
    • Night photography
-refers to photographs taken outdoors between twilight and dawn.Night photographers generally have a choice between using artificial light or using a long exposure, exposing the scene for seconds or even minutes, in order to give the film enough time to capture a usable image, and to compensate for reciprocity failure. With the camera's Twilight Landscape mode, you can too take nightshots! Gosh! this topic is getting boring, sorry...
    • Panoramic photography
-a style of photography that aims to create images with exceptionally wide fields of view, but has also come to refer to any photograph that is cropped to a relatively wide aspect ratio. Panoramic images captures a field of view comparable to, or greater than, that of the human eye - about 160° by 75° - and should do so while maintaining detail across the entire picture. The camera also have this so you can let your family and friends view the great beach, or how high you are, or how beautufil the plains are, or how far out is the mountain range...
    • Photogram
-a photographic image made (without a camera) by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. Like that of X-ray machines or scanner, no direct focus, depth of view or what so ever, plain 2D image.
    • Photographic print toning
-any chemical process used to modify the color of monochrome photographic prints. They make the tones of the image different before printing. An example of this would be Sepia Toning. The Camera also has this toning so that you don't need to bother editing your images to get that antique effect.
    • Push printing
-push printing and push developing refer to a process where a picture is printed as if it were a film speed higher than intended by the film manufacturer. It doesn't seem to clear but to me. It's like white balance or metering mode. No need for push printing to perfect your image... use the setting and you can have that great image even before printing.
    • Rephotography
-the act of repeat photography of the same site, with a time lag between the two images; a "then and now" view of a particular area. The before and after effect...
    • Rollout photography
-in the basic technique, a camera with a vertical slit aperture is positioned opposite a turntable on which an object is centered. Both the object and the camera are oriented as precisely as possible so as to eliminate aberrations due to the focusing mechanism of the camera, the aperture, and the characteristics of the object itself. In short, it taked the murals of a vase or something round and prints it in a roll out paper or film... Just a few more... hayz
    • Sabatier Effect
-or the Solarisation effect on prints and films maybe... a phenomenon in photography in which the image recorded on a negative or on a photographic print is wholly or partially reversed in tone. Dark areas appear light and vice versa. The camera also has this feature.. it's cool especially in sunny days...
    • Stereoscopy
-3-D (three-dimensional) imaging is any technique capable of recording three-dimensional visual information or creating the illusion of depth in an image... can't be done with the camera though.. maybe some editing can.. at least you have 3.2Mpx of picture to edit ^^,
    • Sun printing
-it is a photographic process in which the final print is produced by conventional lithographic printing processes. According to the text in wikipedia, the gelatine thingy.. We once did this in WorkShop class, 6 years ago, when I was 1st year High School in Don Bosco Technical College, we used this technique for sreen printing, printing images on T-Shirts. We prepared an image on an ACETATE/Transparency. Spread the gelatine mixture to the screen let it dry and placed the transparency over the screen and placed it under the sun until it left a mark on the screen , washed it off and it left the mark on the screen that could not be washed on and then we paint it over shirts and we have a project.. hehe' or maybe that's not the technique that i was talking about? hehe'
    • Infrared photography
-uses infra-red filters and infra-red sensitive film to capture the infra-red spectrum that bounces fo objects...
    • Ultraviolet photography
-like that of the infrared but uses Ultra Violet rays.
    • Time-lapse
-a cinematography technique whereby each film frame is captured at a rate much slower than it will be played back. The k800i doesn't have this since it takes long time intervals or long exposure time. What the camera has is the BestPic. the high-speed photography version.. the oppsite of time-lapse photography..

Well, that's all I can say.. *phew* gosh, it took me the whole day to prepare and write this. I only have words to show you... I too is anticipaitng my own images online

Did you notice that I highlit useless words...? nothing in particular....

The Origin

I. the name: -=roiji-eikon=-
nope, this isn't a pair of lovers... how i wish it was. Eikon is a feminine noun though.

roiji-luigi

back in the Dorms of Asia Pacific College, I got a Korean friend named Jini. She was there for her English tutorial class, ESL. She asks for my help in pronouncing word in english. My name is Luigi, and we all know how Koreans and Japanese pronounce our L's -- R's. She pronounces my name as ruweejie... I was looking for a codename for me to use over the Internet. I though of countless japanes, latin, tagalog, names/codenames. I was repeatedly enunciating her pronounciation of name. I thought of roiji, it sounded japanese and it's unique enough to be blognames, usernames, forum names, and more.

eikon-image

i was searching for a japanese word for image i just found some hiragana character and couldn't figure out how they pronounce it. at the same time, i looked for the same word in latin and found "imago". i wanted to use imago but it's a name for a pop band here in the Philippines, and a good one too... suddenly my eyes stumbled upon the word greek and thought, why not search for greek. keying it up in foreignword.com i found eikon in one of their greek dictionary.

according to bible.crosswalks.com Eikon means:
1. an image, figure, likeness
    a. an image of the things (the heavenly things)
        1. used of the moral likeness of renewed men to God
        2. the image of the Son of God, into which true Christians are transformed, is likeness not only to the heavenly body, but also to the most holy and blessed state of mind, which Christ possesses
    b. the image of one
        1. one in whom the likeness of any one is seen
        2. applied to man on account of his power of command
        3. to Christ on account of his divine nature and absolute moral excellence

perfect!

II. the purpose: photoblog.
i've always wanted to put up a site where i could share the world my picture taken with my K800i. I thought of coding my own and uploading it to tripod or something but that would be too much hassle, my friend introduced my to blogger. before i used blogdrive but i didn't like their layout. Blogger's layout are more simple and clean and is connected with google. I am a google fan anyway.

III. the expectation: tons of pictures.
vacation pictures, class pictures, miscelleanious pictures, nature, buildings, structures, out of no where, trigger happy. my pics.

with that set, let's start blogging.

LET's GET iT On!!
