XAMPP / WAMP / apache / php running slow on localhost solution

SOLUTION: open a command shell as an Administrator type: netsh type: interface type: portproxy type: add v6tov4 listenport=80 connectport=80 BACKGROUND: Windows environment is such a complex environment to develop on. Many things need to be considered if something goes wrong. Firewall, rogue programs, anti-virus, etc... Anyway, I've been developing in Windows for the past 9 years and only this past year that I encountered slowdown in my localhost which was not present before. I've had this computer since 2008 and hardware configuration has been the same since then except for hard drive upgrade. I've been using the same Windows 7 64-bit installer and settings since then. The only difference was the upgraded version of the apache server (BitNami) that I've been using. And after going on a leave from developing for a few months I haven't touch my development environment since. When I started my local server again, everything was slower than usual. I thought it was something that I have set from an even earlier development when I was testing the loading of website bandwidth constraint using mod_bw. I checked the settings. mod_bw wasn't even installed now. It was something else. Now, with a new site to develop, things were reaching the maximum timeout of processing. I couldn't continue processing the page. This wasn't present on my Macbook Air, this wasn't present on two of my friend's netbook, and is not present on the live server. I though it was the hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts). It's not. Then I searched Google and found my answer. (see above) Source: http://drupal.org/node/206829#comment-3619872

buzz -- the audio store, a tale of bad sales representation

Ranting my experience a while ago... bad sales rep... While in Robinsons Place Manila to buy T-shirts for ANCOP Global Walk this Aug 12, 2012 me and my sis went by to a store named buzz. An audio accessory selling store. She was looking for a new headphone. We went in. She saw a headphone she wanted to try out. It was sky blue in color. I don't know what brand it is. It's not Skullcandy, nor Hed Kandi. It was a headset. I plugged the headset on the Lenovo P700 I was carrying. She picked out a song. Super Bass. I played the song. No reaction. I tried it out myself to see if the headset volume is comfortable. It sounded like a minus one or a headphone not plugged in correctly. The song was full in volume. I plugged it in fully. No change. No Boom Boom Bass. No Nicki Minaj. I checked my equalizer. It wasn't on. I asked the sales guy in front of me. Me: Ganito ba talaga tunog nito parang minus one. Sales Rep: Sir, baka sira lang po yung file nyo. Sales Rep: Try nyo po yung ibang headphones. (Pointing to a Sennheiser beside it) I smirked, I think. I pulled out my trusted earphones. I used it a while ago. I know it's working. It was an effective Tonino Lamborghini-branded earphones with good bass output and clear sound. I got for 700 pesos at Silicon Valley. It played Super Bass for quite a few months already. I plugged my earphones on the phone.
